Cecilia D. Alfree

Age 86, of Old New Castle, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.

Cecilia was a lifelong resident of New Castle and a faithful parishioner of Saint Peter the Apostle Church and member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. She retired from the Dupont Company after 28 years of dedicated service and was an avid Phillies fan. She especially enjoyed baking and preparing Sunday and holiday dinners for her family. Cecilia was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend whose happiest times were always those spent in the company of her family and friends. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and involved herself in their many activities. Cecilia touched many lives and will live on in their memory. She will always be remembered as a very kind and giving person.

She is survived by her children, Bill (Jeri) of North Redington Beach, Fl., Mike (Barbara) of New Castle, Gerald A. of New Castle, Hank (Beth) of Wilmington, and Felicine (Bob Oakes) of Hockessin; grandchildren, Cindy, Marc, Colleen, Mike Jr., Dana, Nicole, JJ, Ryan, Erin, Kelly, Rory, Sean, Shannon, and Kevin; and 10 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at St. Peter R. C. Church, 5th & Harmony Sts., New Castle at 11 am. Friends may call at Krienen Funeral Home, 34 West 6th St., New Castle on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm. Interment in St. Peter R. C. Church Cemetery, New Castle.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Cecilia's name to St. Peter the Apostle Organ Restoration Fund, 521 Harmony St., New Castle, DE 19720.
