Obituary for Patricia A. Jezyk (McCaffery)
Passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 16, 2016.
Patricia was born on October 10, 1930 in New Castle, DE to the late Francis and Cecilia (Gallagher) McCaffery. She was a 1949 graduate of Wilmington High School. Patricia was a long time parishioner of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church as well as a member of the Claymore Senior Center.
Patricia enjoyed playing bingo, reading, and visiting the casino. Some of her most treasured times were simply sitting outside and talking with her friends and neighbors. Patricia loved her family deeply. She was dedicated homemaker whose infectious laughter always put a smile on the faces of her loved ones.
Patricia was preceded in death by her sisters, Anne Bedwell and Marie Quill, and her brother, Frank McCaffery.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 64 years, Leonard Jezyk; her children, Richard (Lynn), Ronald (Lori), Leonard Jr. (Vanessa), David (Jon) Timothy (Kathy) and Tina Conley (Kevin); her 13 grandchildren; her 2 step grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Patricia is also survived by her sister, Cecilia Hoopes, and sister-in-law, Pat McCaffery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, April 20 at 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth R.C. Church, 809 S. Broom St., Wilm., DE 19805. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, on Tuesday April 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made to St. Elizabeth R.C. Church, 809 S. Broom St., Wilm., DE 19805.
