Obituary for Anne E. Freebery

Anne E. Freebery
Age 85 of Hockessin

Passed away surrounded by her loving family on April 21, 2016.

Born in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Earl Banks Freebery and the late Ruth Wilhelm Freebery.

Anne was a graduate of William Penn High School, class of 1948, and Goldey Beacom Junior College. Upon graduation, she worked for the New Castle Trust/Wilmington Trust Company where she served on their Junior Operating Committee, was a member of the Quarter Century Club, and retired as the Vice President of Demand Deposits after 43 years of dedicated service. Anne was a life long member of Immanuel on the Green Episcopal Church where she served on their Altar Guild and taught Sunday School.

Anne’s family and friends were the most important part of her life. She cherished the time that she spent with her family and always looked forward to weekly visits from her nephews and nieces. Anne traveled extensively throughout the world and always said her favorite spot was London, which she visited many times. She was an avid gardener and shared her love of gardening with nieces, Lori and Kristin. She thoroughly enjoyed her class lunches with ”the class of ‘48”. Anne was a great Phillies fan and enjoyed watching them on television.

She is survived by her brother William E. Freebery and his wife Sally, with whom she lived; her niece, Lori Freebery Watts, her husband Todd, and her sons Charles and Conner Rombach; her nephew Michael C. Freebery, his wife Kristin, and their daughter Winnie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service for Anne on Wednesday, April 27mat 11:00 am at Krienen Funeral Home, 34 W. 6th Street, New Castle, DE. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday evening, April 26. Interment will be in Glebe Cemetery.
