Obituary for Benjamin M Reeder

Benjamin M  Reeder
Benjamin M. Reeder, age 64, passed away on November 2, 2016 at his home.
Ben worked for the City of New Castle for 20 years, as superintendent for the Streets Department. He also worked for Guardian for 20 years installing underground cable, and most recently worked for Danella Line Services.
He was a volunteer firefighter and a lifetime member with the Goodwill Fire Company, where he served as Vice President, President and sat on the Board of Directors. Ben was also a member of the Lions Club of New Castle, where he was nominated Man of the Year.
Ben enjoyed collecting firetrucks, both large and small. He also loved his CB radio, and his handle was “Sugar Bear”.
He is preceded in death by his parents George, and Marguerite Reeder; brothers, Herman, Robert, Carl, Donnie, Georgie; sisters, Shirley and Margie. Ben is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cornelia; son, Benjamin (Tracy); daughters, Cornelia Kulinowski, and Michelle Young; grandchildren, William Kulinowski, Jessica Young; sister, Doris Gooden (Al), Elaine Vannoy, Cassie Rothnel (Ed), Judy Robinson (Vernon), Theresa Riley (Sam); brother-in- law, George Webb, William Lane, Robert Lane, James Lane; and best friend and brotherTommy Simpers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service for Ben at Goodwill Fire Company, 401 South Street, New Castle, DE on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10:30 am. Friends may call at the Goodwill Fire Company on Saturday morning from 9:00-10:30. Interment will be held at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
Flowers are welcomed, and contributions can also be made in Ben’s name to the Goodwill Fire Company, 401 South Street, New Castle, DE 19720.
