Age 95 of Wilmington
Received her angel wings surrounded by her loving family on March 6, 2017, 11 days after her 95th birthday.
Connie was born in Jersey City, NJ on February 23, 1922 to the late Isaia and Mary (Presceno) Veltre.
She worked as a dedicated employee of Picciotti’s Restaurant for many years. Connie loved baking her famous Italian cookies and making her sauce and sharing them with her family. She enjoyed her garden and could often be found tending to her many beautiful flowers. Connie also loved spending her birthdays at Delaware Park with her family and friends. She will be remembered most by her beautiful smile and kind spirit.
In addition to her parents, Connie is preceded in death by her siblings, John Veltre, Elizabeth Pivinski, Josephine Pivinski, Anthony Veltre, Yolanda Ciccone, Anna Nash, and Joanne Kane, and her grandson, John Wenicus, Jr.
Connie will be dearly missed by her daughters, Barbara A. Jeffery, Maryann Sine (Keith), and Concetta “Connie” Wencius (John); her grandchildren, Tony (Gloria), Bob (Stephanie), Ron, Jason (Fran), and Jessie (Jill); her great grandchildren, Tori, Anthony, Jordan, Chrissy, Brianna, Collin, and Juliana. She is also survived by her brother, Francis Veltre.
Connie is very much loved and will be dearly missed by all. She leaves behind many cherished memories and was the light of her family’s lives.
The family would like to thank all the staff at both Manor Care Pike Creek and Heartland Hospice for their care of Connie in theses final days.
Interment will take place in All Saints Cemetery. All services will be private.
