Obituary for Louise "Weezie" Goelzhauser (Mazzeo)

Louise "Weezie" Goelzhauser

Age 80, passed away at Christiana Hospital on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 surrounded by her family.

Weezie was born and raised in Little Italy. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Jenny Mazzeo.

She attended St. Thomas the Apostle Elementary School and Wilmington High School. Weezie retired from Wilmington Trust Company. She loved spending time with her family. Weezie especially enjoyed sharing her Italian traditions of baking and cooking. She will be remembered most for her delicious meatballs, eclairs, and pound cakes. She was an avid fan of Delaware Park. She was a homemaker and her biggest joy was her grandchildren and granddoggies.

Weezie was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jennifer Fagan, and her son-in-law, John Fagan, Sr. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald; her daughters, Donna (Darryl), Susan (Steve), and Michele (Lou); five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 25, at 10:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, 4th and Bancroft Parkway, Wilmington. A viewing will take place at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere, on Friday, March 24, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery.
