Obituary for James J ""Jim" "JJ"" Foster

James J ""Jim" "JJ""  Foster
James J. Foster, formerly of Hilltown Township, PA, died peacefully surrounded by his wife and children at the Laurels on March 30, 2017. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. (Klingmeyer) and son of the late Dorothy E (DiCamillo) and James W. Foster.
JJ was born on January 22, 1933 and raised in New Castle, DE. After graduating from St. Peter's High School, he served in the US Army during the Korean War (state side) and the DE National Guard. He was employed by RCA Service Co. which morphed into Lockheed Martin, as an Electronic Technician for 32 years. JJ worked on government contracts in Europe, Asia, Canada and the USA. He participated in many sports, enjoyed cooking, and classical music. He also worked as a high school soccer referee and volunteered at Deep Run Sports Assoc.
JJ is preceded in death by is brothers, William, Stephen, and John Foster.
In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by his children, Edward (Deb), Leah Bednarek, and Laura Foster Swartley (Josh); grandchildren, Emma and Alivia Foster, Leila and Peter Bednarek, and Camille, Miriam, and Jude Foster-Swartley. He is also survived by his sisters, Elizabeth and Camille Foster; and brothers, Robert (Annette), Anthony, Ralph, and Thomas (Sandy); and sister-in-law, Carol Foster; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 8, 2017 at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 515 Harmony St, New Castle, DE 19720. A Visitation will be held at the church from 10-11:00 am, followed by a reception.
