Daniel J. Givens
Age 46 of New Castle
Passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017.
Danny was born and raised in New Castle, DE. He was a graduate of both St. Peter the Apostle Elementary School and William Penn High School. Upon graduation Danny joined Local HVAC. He was a dedicated tin knocker for over 28 years and was most proud of his work at the new Bayview Health Milford Hospital. Danny was a member of St. Anthony club as well as a life-long parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle Parish. He was immensely proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed being a part of the St. Patrick Society at St. Peter's.
Danny was a true outdoorsman. He loved fishing and hunting and often times referred to himself as a "river rat". Danny was an avid football fan and always enjoyed supporting his favorite teams; the Dallas Cowboys and the fight Irish of Notre Dame. Danny was a true family man. He loved his children more than anything and supported them in all of their endeavors. He will be missed most by those that knew his loving and compassionate nature and his true heart of gold.
Danny is survived by his wife, Kimberly; his children, Caitlin, Ryan and Riley; his parents, Jim and Linda; and his siblings, Michelle Tafel (Guy) and Michael; as well as a large loving extended family. He is also survived by his best dogs, Guinness and Finnegan; and his cat, Josie.
The family would also especially like to thank Fr. William Hazzard for his comforting presence during this difficult time.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Chrisitan Burial at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, 5th and Harmony Streets, New Castle, DE, on Friday, Dec 1 at 10:00 am. Friends may call at the church on Thursday Nov 30 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Interment will follow mass in the adjoining cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Danny's name to St. Peter the Apostle Church, 521 Harmony Street, New Castle, DE 19720.
