Obituary for James William "Bill " Higman

James W. "Bill" Higman
Age 85 of Wilmington
Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2017 after a long illness.
Bill was a graduate of Brown Vocational High School. Upon graduation he joined the United States Air Force serving as a supply sergeant. He greatly enjoyed his time in the service especially his station in Roswell, New Mexico. Once he returned to Delaware, Bill went to work as a stock clerk at both Kiels and Sears. He was a dedicated employee for many years and took pride in providing for his family. In 1955, Bill married the love of his life, Peach. Together they shared 62 wonderful years.
Bill enjoyed bowling and throwing horseshoes. He was an extremely talented artist in both calligraphy and paintings.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Meredith "Peach" Higman; his two children, Bruce Higman, and his wife, Diane, and Leslie Higman; five grandchildren, Michelle, Jennifer, Amanda, Jonathan, and David; and 7 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to the service for Bill at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19805 on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 11:30 am. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:30am-11:30am. Interment will take place at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701 on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 11:00 am.
