Carolyn Anne Alvini

Loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012 surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Carolyn was born in Elkton, MD on July 7th, 1941. She devoted her life to her family. To Carolyn, her family did not only include her immediate family but everyone who walked through her door. With such a warm and welcoming heart, she insisted on looking after even those who were not her own. She enjoyed preparing Italian meals for all, celebrating the holidays and volunteering for Meals on Wheels. She was a devout Catholic and long time parishioner of Holy Spirit Church in New Castle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene C. Wilson & Anne Marie (Vari); and her daughter Stephanie. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 52 years Rudolph F. Alvini; her children, Anne Marie Ledeker (Marvin), Francis Alvini (Holly), Sandra Minner (Steve), Natalie Ganc (Jeff) & Michael Alvini; her grandchildren, Steven Jr., Eric, Christopher, Alyse, Brandon, Matthew & Allie; her sisters, Cecelia Camponelli, Kathryn Kane, Joanne Peltz, Denise Houston; and many extended family members.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Church, 12 Winder Rd., New Castle on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 10 am. Friends may call at Krienen Funeral Home, 34 West 6th St., New Castle on Friday evening, May 4, 2012 from 6-8 pm. Interment in St. Peter R. C. Church Cemetery, 5th & Harmony Sts., New Castle.
