Obituary for Marian Jeanette Nowell (Feeney)

Passed away February 4, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 88.

Marian was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Theresa Meles Feeney Ventresca and John Feeney. She loved living at the beach and enjoyed many summers with her family there. Her feistiness will be remembered fondly, and we thank her for giving us so many happy memories.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Burton Nowell, in 1995. She will be greatly missed by her sons, Bobby (Barbara) and Randy (Karen); her daughter, Sandy Joyce (Tom); her 7 grandchildren, Brooke (Jason), Randy (Megan), Jason (Melissa), Kristy (Josh), Kelly (Jason), Colleen (Pat) and Kim (Steve); her 15 great-grandchildren, Morgan, TJ, Parker, JP, Mikayla, Brayden, Brennan, Abby, Wyatt, Tyler, Jake, Lexi, Bella, Riley and Lukas; her sister-in-law, Bea Nowell; and her many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank her longtime caregiver and friend, Sharon Mlynarski. Also, thank you to the Seasons Hospice staff at Christiana Hospital who were so compassionate to Marian and her family.
A viewing will take place at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere, on Friday, February 6, from 10:00 am to noon. Interment will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
