Obituary for Julie Cioti "Kul Jul" DelGrosso

Julie Cioti DelGrosso
“Kul Jul”
Julie passed away peacefully on October 17, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 11, 1930 to Domenic and Antoinette Cioti in Kennett Square, PA. Julie was a graduate of Kennett Consolidated High School, where she was an outstanding athlete, taking the best all-around female athlete award all four years. After high school, Julie began her career at the Kennett Square Bell Telephone Company, where she worked until moving to Wilmington, DE in 1951. She raised her three children, Jimmy, Debbie, and Donna, and returned to work at the phone company, retiring from Diamond State Telephone Co. in 1995.
Julie had many talents including oil painting, which she did every Tuesday at the Fraim Boys Club since retirement. Additionally, Kul Jul was a fantastic cook, baker, crocheter, an avid cross word solver, and an enthusiastic football, baseball, and tennis fan. Above all, she loved spending time doting on her family, who will always love her more than the stars in the sky.
Julie was preceded in death by her sisters, Gracie Picciotti and Carmella Amabili, and her brother, John Cioti.
Living on in her light are her children, Jim DelGrosso and wife Mary Ann, Debbie Ramone and husband Pat, and Donna DelGrosso; her grandchildren, Jimmy (Pam) and Mike DelGrosso, and Julie, Patrick, and Matt Ramone; two great granddaughters, Cassie and Gemma, and great grandniece, Grace; her sisters Rosie Strengari, Ninnette Heinley; brother-in-law, Louie Amabili, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua R. C. Church, 9th and DuPont Streets, Wilmington, on Friday, October 21 at 12:00 noon. Friends may call at the church Friday morning from 10:00 to noon. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions be made to Boys and Girls Club, 669 South Union Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.
