Edward L. Shepherd, 76, of West Chester, PA passed away on January 5, 2017, with his loving wife, Lucia Mazzetti Shepherd, by his side. He was born to the late Rolfe and Ethel (Kennedy) Shepherd in Chester, PA.
Eddie was a gifted athlete in multiple sports at Wilmington High School. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps then began his machinist career at Delsteel. He retired after working for 35 years at DuPont. He brightened the day of every person he engaged in conversation. He loved his family, the Indian River Bay, Blue Hens football, and a good game of poker.
He is survived by Lucia, his wife of 53 years; daughters, Stephanie and husband, Gregory Kohs, and Lauren Shepherd; granddaughters, Madeline Kohs, and Raven Zetusky; as well as his sister Audrey Griffith and husband, William.
The family wishes to thank all of the doctors and healthcare professionals who took such loving care of Eddie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Assumption R.C. Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707, on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 10:30 am. Viewing will be held at the Church from 9-10:00. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward’s memory may be made to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.
