Passed away at Churchmans Village on Sunday, February 5, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 8, 1927 to the late Oscar and Laura Lank, and was a graduate of Wilmington High School and worked as a secretary for the City of Wilmington Fire Department.
Dorothy enjoyed bowling and being a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a loving and dedicated homemaker. She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and friend, deeply cherished by all of her loved ones.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband George Rhodes. She is survived by her sons, Charles and his wife Linda Rhodes, and James Rhodes; grandchildren, Charles, Michael, Allen, and Brandon; as well as cousins, Melissa, Kirsten and Stephanie.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff at Churchmans Village for their attentive and compassionate care of Dorothy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19085 on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 6:00 pm. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-6 pm. Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lodge #2, PO Box 409, 1406 Wilmington Road, New Castle, De 19720.
